Bloom: Fresh Devotionals For Girls Part ThreeSample
Sow a Seed
There will be times in your life when you share Jesus with someone and they happen to be ready to receive Christ. For other people, it’s going to take time. It may take inviting them to Sunday School for months, praying for them for years, and being willing to share what Jesus is doing in your life over a long period of time.
Sometimes we become impatient when we don’t see results immediately. Don’t get discouraged and don’t give up. God is always working, even when we don’t see it.
Just like it takes time for a seed to grow into a tree or bloom into a flower, it takes time for the seed of the Gospel to bear fruit in someone’s life. It can take a while, but if the seed isn’t even planted, you can be sure there will never be a tall, strong tree or a fragrant flower. You have to plant and leave the results to God.
That’s what the Apostle Paul is saying in today's verse: he sowed the seed of the Gospel, another person watered that seed, but it was ultimately God who brought the results.
As you read today's verse, ask yourself the following questions:
What seeds of faith could you sow this week?
What seeds have you sown that you may be growing discouraged about? Take some time to pray over those situations.
