The Nature Of ChristSample

The Nature Of Christ

DAY 4 OF 5

The One Who Remained Human.

Jesus walked on the earth for a little more than thirty years. After those years, Christ died on the cross. But, He didn’t stay dead and after three days, He was raised from the dead.  This illustrates His victory over death. After His resurrection, Jesus walked on the earth for forty days before ascending back to the right hand of the Father. It is easy for us to assume that Jesus would put aside His human nature after His victory, but this is not what the Bible tells us. In the passages from today, you will see different proofs of God’s humanity after His resurrection.

First, we see that Jesus still had His human body after being raised. He shows His scars as a proof that He is not a ghost. His disciples are able to see, hear, and feel His bodily presence.  It is not only in the days after His resurrection that we see proof of His humanity. In the other verses we will read today, we see that Jesus is called the Son of Man, the Son of David, and even the angels refer to Him as Jesus, which was given to Him after His birth on Earth. Jesus didn’t just become human for a short period so He could redeem us. His incarnation remained so that He could intercede for us.
