The Nature Of ChristSample

The Nature Of Christ

DAY 3 OF 5

The One Who Displayed Both Human and Divine Attributes.

You may have wrestled with the readings from yesterday. Today, we look more deeply at this Jesus who was both 100% man and 100% God. We look at His attributes, both human and divine.

Jesus displayed six different divine attributes. Today, we look at three of them. They are called the omni’s: omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience. Stated another way, Christ is almighty, ubiquitous, and all-knowing.

These attributes show that He is God, since only God can have these attributes. During His time on Earth, Jesus demonstrated these attributes, repeatedly proving He was God. Yet as we read in the final verses today, we have seen that Jesus also showed human attributes: He was born just like any other human, He experienced human weakness such as hunger and fatigue, and He even experienced human growth.

The combination of divinity and humanity can create many questions.  However, it is important that we keep His nature in mind when reading about Jesus. He was fully God, and yet fully man.

I challenge you to think about this today and while you are reading your Bible.

In what ways do you see His human side and in which ways do you see His divinity coming to the surface?
