MOTION: Living Beyond

DAY 10 OF 10

LIVING BEYOND: The Walls

I will make a difference wherever I go because I know God has a purpose for my life.

We often associate the word church to a building or location.  However every time the Bible mentions the word church, it refers to a person -- not a place.

Buildings are inanimate objects. A building can open its  doors for life to come in, but it cannot carry life itself. It is stationary and stagnant. People, however, carry the greatest source of life. We are designed in the image of God: body, soul and spirit -  purposed to be active and mobile.

The church was never meant to be confined to the four walls of a building. Jesus’ last command to His disciples before ascending into heaven was to go. As the church, we are the carriers of God’s Word and an expression of Jesus’ love to the world. We come to the building in order to be sent out, so that we can invite those who are on the outside in.

God has commissioned us to be missionaries, representing His hands and feet on the earth. We do not have to wait to be old, nor do we have to travel halfway across the world to be used by God. The Bible says God chose the exact time and place in which you would live. He put you around certain people because He knew that you could express His love to them in a way that no one else could.

You are the church.

Wherever you are and whoever you’re with, God has created you to make a difference in the lives of others. God is intentional and makes no mistakes. God will make much out of what you consider small. He only needs you to go.

Day 9

About this Plan

MOTION: Living Beyond

This devotional is inspired by Motion Worship’s song, BEYOND, and is meant to help take you on a path to experience the presence and power of God’s friendship in your life. But, you will only get out what you put in. So lean in, and invite the Holy Spirit to show you which areas of your life He is waiting for you to surrender.
