The Widow’s Oil

Put your faith in God’s provision. The widow and her two sons were out of options, and yet they remained hopeful. She could have easily given up: trade her sons as slaves to her debtors as payment for the debt she couldn’t afford, but she didn’t. She remained hopeful and full of faith that God would provide. She acted in faith. She didn’t need all of the details of how God would provide for her, she simply obeyed. The widow took what she had, which was just a small amount of oil, and poured it out into borrowed jars. 

What happened next was God’s miraculous provision. The oil continued to flow until all of the jars were filled. She was then able to pay her debts and still had enough left over for her and her sons to live off. She put her faith in God’s provision and saw an amazing miracle take place in her life.

Whatever situation you might be facing today remember that our God provides. Just like the widow from the story, we can put our faith in God’s provision. What is it you’re believing God for? What areas in your life are you believing for breakthrough in? Don’t lose hope, trust in God and His provision. Our God always keeps His promises!
