Journey Of The Seed - Catch The Bible's Big Picture In 60 DaysSample
THE PLAYERS
[Scheduled Reading: Revelation 7-12]
There’s a lot in Revelation I don’t fully understand.
And if this is one of your first reads through the book, it can be overwhelming.
Here are some helpful rules for newer readers of Revelation:
1. Don’t try to understand all the symbolism and deeper meanings of things that are not so clear.
2. Do focus on the things that are clear! (There’s plenty to understand).
Also, I find it helpful to stay focused on the key players:
- Jesus – The SEED. Again, this book is His revelation. He’s the central figure, not a sideline spectator.
- God – Surprisingly, His role and mention throughout the book is minimal.
- Angels (good guys)
- Demons (bad guys)
- The two witnesses (believed to be Elijah and Moses)
- The Serpent = Dragon = Satan (different descriptions of the same entity)
- The Beast & the False prophet – (together with Satan, the three make up the unholy trinity)
- Various multitudes
- Great multitudes who stand before the Lamb
- Various armies (good guys and bad guys)
- Souls beheaded for not taking mark of the beast
- Servants who worship the Lamb in New Jerusalem
- Those inflicted by various plague & judgments
- The dead (those names not in the Lamb’s Book of Life).
Every person or creature - holy or unholy - has a future.
Each has an eternal state destined for them according to the prophecies in this book.
