Blessed with Hope

Hope is a joyful expectation for a good outcome, and it is a catalyst for breakthroughs in your life. It is a launching pad for dreams to be fulfilled. It is important to cultivate hope, as you are faced with a choice to be either hopeless or hope-filled whenever you face difficult situations. 

The world we live in is filled with hopelessness, but we are to rise up as God’s ambassadors of hope. When you are filled with hope, you can help others find it in their darkest hour. One portion of the Bible that speaks of the power of hope is found in Job 14:7–9 (NASB): “For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail. Though its roots grow old in the ground And its stump dies in the dry soil, At the scent of water it will flourish And put forth sprigs like a plant.”

Some time ago, I set a plant in my garage and forgot about it. When I found it, it was shriveled up and dead. I brought it into the house, gave it some sunlight, and watered it. I kept it hydrated, and within a number of days, new sprouts of life began to emerge from the soil. In the next month, it regained its life and beauty.

Sometimes your life might feel like that dried up plant. In the natural, it looks like it is finished, but all you probably need is a little nurture—a little hope.

Five Bible-Based Decrees

I decree that:

1. I trust in the plans that God has for me, knowing I have a future filled with hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

2. I am blessed because my hope is in the Lord. (Psalm 42:5)

3. Because I have sought wisdom, I have a future, and my hope is not cut off. (Proverbs 24:14)

4. The Lord is my portion; therefore I have hope in Him. (Lamentations 3:24)

5. The God of hope fills me with all joy and peace in believing; by the power of the Holy Spirit, I abound in hope. (Romans 15:13)

Activation

Do you know someone in need of hope? If so, pray about gracing them with hope-filled encouragement. Become God’s ambassador of hope.
