Everyone. Everywhere. Part 1Sample
Be Prepared: In yesterday’s devotional, we talked about how Jesus’ message is to love God, love others, and make disciples. All three are lifelong processes that we can always continue to improve upon, but we will never do them perfectly. Loving God and loving others are pursuits that the Holy Spirit empowers us to start doing the moment we believe. Making disciples, however, is something that we have to learn how to do before we can really begin.
For someone to become a disciple of Jesus, the first thing that they have to do is believe the Gospel. If we want to be disciple-makers like Jesus commands, we need to know how to share the Gospel. The Apostle Peter, in his letter to believers scattered throughout several Roman provinces, says that we need to always be ready to gently and respectfully give an answer for the hope that we have in Jesus. Are you always ready to share the hope you have in Jesus?
If you want an example of how to share the Gospel, look back at Day 5: The Best News Ever. Sometimes, if the conversation you are having allows, it can be great to draw out a Gospel-sharing tool on a napkin or a spare page in a notebook since most people are visual learners. Check out a tool known as Three Circles .
- Questions:
- Do you feel equipped to share the Gospel both verbally and visually?
- Are there ways you can be more gentle and respectful to others who might not have the same hope you have in Jesus?
- Application:
- Watch the Three Circles video two or three times. Then, grab a spare sheet of paper and practice drawing it out.
