Everyone. Everywhere. Part 1Sample

Everyone. Everywhere. Part 1

DAY 20 OF 20

Now Action: Speak, share, proclaim, tell, witness, and teach are all action words. God wants us to be active people, not passive or apathetic. We are not supposed to pay our bills late, turn homework assignments in late, or be late to work. Procrastination, laziness, fear, and passivity are not from God. This also can be translated to our faith. He wants us to share the gift He has given us. It is an easy tendency for Christians to receive the gift of salvation and hoard it. Christians can let weeks, months, and years pass by before they speak, tell, or proclaim their faith.

We should be active Christians who are running alongside Jesus and His mission for the world. If we do not run alongside of Him, we are missing out on experiencing the fullness of life on this earth. All followers of Jesus have the same purpose: to help people find and follow Jesus. Be active, and allow God to use you and your story to continually renew your life and the lives of others.

  • Questions:

    • Would you consider yourself active or passive in your faith?

    • In the last six months, have you proclaimed that Jesus has taken you out of darkness and that salvation is near?

  • Applications:

    • As you read 1 Peter 2:9 and Matthew 10:7, pay attention to which words are repeated in both passages.

    • Look back at the words you wrote in the chart from yesterday’s devo, and use them to help you write out your testimony of what Jesus has done in your life in a couple sentences.

    • Here is an example to help you write your testimony: Growing up as an only child, I was self-centered, thinking the world revolved around me. Through my parents divorce and dad’s death, I saw my need for forgiveness and healing. I believed Jesus lived, died, and rose for my sins, and because of Jesus I have joy through trials.

  • Prayer: Father, thank you so much for sending your Son so I can experience life now and forever. I am thankful you gave your Son, Jesus, so that the world may receive eternal life. I pray that this week I can reflect on how you took me out of darkness and into marvelous light. Amen.
