Hope in The MourningSample
HOLD ON TO HOPE
When a well-educated and trained professional gives you bad news, it may be tempting to agree and accept that your pet’s situation is hopeless. Your furry (or scaly) family member may be extremely ill or badly injured, but have you ever dared to hope for God to move supernaturally in your pet’s life?
______________
We eventually left the clinic and went home. All night and into the wee hours of the morning our prayers and declarations went into overdrive. I found as many scriptures as I could about God supernaturally healing the sick, resurrecting the dead, and the power He has given us to perform miracles in Jesus’ Name.
The next day, my older sister and I took Rustie to a new animal hospital. The doctor reviewed Rustie’s medical records from our normal vet and listened as we explained Rustie’s current condition. After conducting a general exam, x-ray and blood work, she concurred with our normal vet, that Rustie had an issue with his kidneys and disproved the possibility that he had cancer. She believed Rustie, unbeknownst to us, had probably ingested something that caused his kidneys to fail.
This new doctor also gave us two options: a 72-hour treatment of fluids and kidney flushing, or letting Rustie go. I had hope, that God would supernaturally heal Rustie and after conferring with our family we decided to proceed with the 72-hour treatment. It seemed highly unlikely that Rustie would improve because his blood work readings were so high they were literally off the charts; his levels were unreadable. But on the third day, Rustie miraculously improved. He was getting his energy back, starting to drink water on his own, and was sitting up for longer lengths of time. God heard our prayers and saw our faith. Rustie was improving and my father and the doctor began making plans for Rustie’s next phase of treatment. I was so excited that he had made such a big improvement.

Although your pet’s medical condition may seem intimidating, I encourage you to hold on to hope. Remind God of His promises. Work out the faith that He has given you. Dare to believe God to do the impossible for your pet and your family. You have nothing to lose when you trust God.
