How To Seek The Kingdom Of God?Sample
You are heir to a kingdom! đź‘‘
How can the Kingdom of God be defined? It’s interesting to note that the expression “Kingdom of God” or “Kingdom of heaven” is mentioned a hundred times in the Bible. For comparison’s sake, let’s look at two other very important words: the word “gospel” is mentioned 90 times and the word “church” a hundred times as well.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (see Matthew 6:33)
We are all convinced of the importance of the gospel, the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. We are all convinced of the importance of the true church, the bride of Christ. But few realize the importance of the Kingdom.
This word, if we break it apart, means “the domain of the king,” and its etymology indicates “what belongs to a king.” Jesus is king! And His Kingdom is unlike any other kingdom, any other dominion on this Earth.
“for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (see Romans 14:17)
When Jesus asks us to seek first the Kingdom of God, in truth, He’s inviting us to seek the One who represents this Kingdom, with all the values that He embodies: righteousness, peace, love, humility, goodness, gentleness, etc.
Today, know that you belong to this Kingdom. That Jesus is your good and marvelous King, and that He causes peace and righteousness to reign in His Kingdom.
Not only are you part of this Kingdom, but even more, you are a co-heir of this Kingdom! You are the beloved child of the King, and He calls you by name. You have a place at His table, and He promises you countless treasures. Material treasures but also spiritual treasures. In Jesus Christ, everything is yours!
“and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” (see Romans 8:17)
So, seek first the King of this Kingdom and everything that comes from His heart, and all things will be given to you as well!
Thanks for existing!
