Putting Off The Old Man Is A Choice. 

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;” Ephesians 4:22 KJV

When you are in Christ the old man dies and God gives you a brand new heart. When you are in Christ, the new you rises up to new life. According to Ephesians 4:22 KJV, Christ has given you the authority to put off the old man and its old way of thinking, along with its sinful appetites. When you are in Christ, it’s your choice to follow Him or you can choose to stay stuck and cling on to the lusts of the past and wither in the wilderness. 

Lust is deceitful and will undoubtedly lead to death. Once lust completes its assignment, lust will leave you empty and unfulfilled. “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:15 KJV 

Lust is never satisfied and will only leave you craving for more. You cannot control the appetite of lust. Lust is like cancer, it only grows and cannot be quenched. Only God can deliver you from the power and the grip of lust. Only God can truly satisfy you. Only the Love of Christ can fill your heart’s void. 

You choose. You can either cling to the corrupt appetites of the past or you can be cleansed and renewed by the Blood of Jesus Christ. It’s your choice. Put off the former things and allow Christ to lead you into every promise that He has prepared for you.
