Praying For Your MarriageSample

Praying for your marriage is one of the most important things you can do. Praying together as a couple for your marriage is even better. Your marriage has been given to you by God as a gift and a tool to enable both of you to fully live out His purpose for your lives. 

You are to be teammates, romantic partners and friends. 

Life’s journey has many ups and downs, and facing these together as a couple will enable you to navigate them far better than you could on your own. 

Oftentimes, you may not know where to start when praying for your marriage. Try with starting simple. Follow a prayer formula laid out for us in 2 Chronicles 20:6-12. It involves doing three things:

1. Praise God (Begin by giving God praise for whatever area you are facing - look for the good, even if you have to look hard to find it!)

2. Present the Situation (Next, bring God your specific situation you are facing. He already knows about it but take this time to focus your own thoughts by telling Him about it in your prayer.)

3. Prayer for Intervention (Ask God the prayer request at this point - whether it involves bringing in His favor, blessing, intervention, hope, rescue, change, or whatever it may entail.)

Please keep in mind, this is not a magical pattern meant to make all your prayers come true. But it is an established pattern in Scripture for how to approach the throne of God and talk to Him about your needs. Remember, the main thing in having your prayers answered is found in your abiding relationship with Jesus Christ which produces a childlike faith rooted in trust. 

We pray as your prayer journey continues to develop more fully that God Himself will bless you indeed. We pray that He will place His hand upon you and expand the borders of your marital influence. We also pray that He will keep you from pain while He provides you with a supernatural covering.
