Happily Ever After: Sex sells
The most disgusting thing about human slavery in America’s past is that some
people treated other people like things, chattels, objects--instead of human
beings. Sad to say, the entire sex-for-money world does the very same thing.
It feeds on people’s appetites and at the same time dehumanizes them.
Whether it’s pornography, prostitution, strip joints, or men using women for
gratification and women using men for money, these actions are sick parodies
of true human love. The longer people live in that fantasy world the less
able they are to form real relationships and healthy marriages. Men just
view women as sperm receptacles, and women view men as ATM machines.
Let’s be frank--the coarse talk common to soldiers, sailors, and marines
doesn’t help the situation. I know, I know--rough people doing rough jobs
will have rough edges, and so on. But what do we say about the value of
other people when the only parts of their bodies we ever talk about are
their sex organs?
Sex according to the way God intends us to use it is a wonderful, fulfilling
gift. Sex according to the way of the world drags people down into a pit of
disease, emotional emptiness, and corruption of the soul.
Here is wisdom from God--can you accept it? “[A] prostitute reduces you to a
loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life” (Proverbs 6:26). “Her house is a highway to the grave” (Proverbs 7:27).

About this Plan
The experience of serving your country overseas--and sometimes seeing firsthand man’s inhumanity to man--may teach you important lessons about life while turning your stomach at the same time. But recognize that God has an even better way for us to learn life wisdom, a way that continually draws us closer to him no matter how far from family or church we might be. Because of his great love for us, he would much rather make us wiser through words. In this way we wouldn’t be sadder but wiser; we would be wiser and happier. The Bible’s book of Proverbs is an absolute gold mine of wisdom for the daily decisions you must make. It will help you develop your personal values and tune your life’s agenda more closely to resemble God’s.
