Remnant: Learning From The Passionate Apostle

DAY 2 OF 10

Peter wasn’t the only guy who left everything behind to follow Jesus. There were many more. Some did because Jesus told them to, and some took it upon themselves. After spending time with the growing crowd, Jesus spent some time talking to His Heavenly Father about it, then invited twelve of His disciples (students) to become His apostles (student helpers). Peter was one of them and got the chance not only to watch and listen to Jesus from a distance, but participate in His ministry, hear His interpretation of and explanation for events, and ask questions.

In many ways, the way Jesus communicated with Peter is like the way God communicates with us through His Holy Spirit, calling us to Himself, giving us insight, and helping us figure out what He might be up to and our role in His divine plan. If we’re smart, like Peter, we’ll take God up on every offer to watch Him at work up close.

Thank God for the opportunity to walk closely with Jesus and participate in His plan.

About this Plan

Remnant: Learning From The Passionate Apostle

To say the apostle Peter was passionate about following Jesus Christ and advancing the Gospel would be an understatement. The man tried to walk on water to get to Jesus, cut a guy’s ear off for trying to arrest Jesus, and allowed himself to be crucified upside down for his faith, but Peter’s journey didn’t happen overnight. Don’t be intimidated by Peter’s headlines. Read his backstory and be encouraged.
