HOPE FOR ALL

“The world today.” We hear that phrase all the time as a commentary to some terrible or crazy news story. But have you ever thought about the fact that the world has actually always been crazy, but it still turns day after day, season after season? Since the time of Adam and Eve’s original sin, humanity has suffered hardships. But all the social and political changes that have taken place every single decade and century and millennium since then have happened under God’s watchful eye and have been a bullet point in His perfect plan. Sometimes it’s comforting to just tune out the world’s instability and focus on the fact that in the midst of terrifying natural disasters, unruly political climates, stressful family dynamics, and other seemingly unjust circumstances that plague our globe, right there stands our Lighthouse. Jesus has always been and will always be our anchor in times of trouble, as equally as He’s there in the calm, glassy-water days. He never changes and He never leaves us. He gave us these promises in scripture so we can trust Him even in the times it’s hard to see through the storm. Jesus Himself told us that we are guaranteed troubles here on earth, but that in Him we can have peace, because peace isn’t the absence of trouble, but the presence of God.
