Living With A Fire Devotional - Jesus CultureSample
Awe - Chris Quilala
In today's fast paced society it's easy to miss out on the moments we have to be caught up in awe of who God is. We can clearly see his majesty in creation around us. He spoke and mountains were formed. He breathes and what was dead comes alive! Gods majesty is all around us.
If we took time daily to allow our eyes to be opened in awe and wonder our perspectives would radically change. The song, “Awe” is meant to remind us of the incredible God we serve.. When we worship we become aware of this contrast, that we have been pulled out of darkness into light, pulled from death to life! No longer should we be reminded of our sin and shame but instead worshipping from the perspective that we are new creations!
How would we worship if we could physically see the God of our salvation standing right in front of us?! Our reverence for Him would go through the roof! In truth this is exactly how the Bible says we should worship, “He gathers the waters of the sea together ]as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses.Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast”.Psalm 33: 7-9 NKJV..
He is always worthy of all our attention so I would encourage you to make space in your day to be captivated by who God is. Watch as He shifts your perspective off of your circumstances and melts away your worry. Let thankfulness fill your thoughts and He will give you wisdom for every situation. “He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. Psalm 111:9-10 NKJV
