Why Is My Faith Worth Sharing?Sample
This is really important: You share; God saves.
Did you realize your faith could be like planting a seed or designing a house? Pretty cool, right? That video helps us remember this really important truth: You share; God saves. What are we talking about? We’ve got to remember that we can’t actually save anybody. We can and should share the cure—Jesus—with everyone, but how they respond isn’t up to us.
We can also say it like this: You say the words; God does the work. Jesus brings people to Jesus. We’re just trying to introduce people to Him. Make sense? You should absolutely share your faith with as many people as you can. But, ultimately, their decision about whether to choose Jesus isn’t up to you. If they choose to follow Jesus, that’s amazing! But you can’t take credit for it. Jesus saved them; you just told them about Him. And in the same way, if someone decides not to accept Jesus, that’s not your fault.
There’s a verse that helps us remember that, just like we talked about in today’s video. It’s 1 Corinthians 3:6 NIV: I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.
We can plant a seed about who Jesus is, but sometimes people aren’t ready for Him yet. Then, maybe years later, someone else tells them about Jesus, and they are ready for that relationship. But no matter when they decide to follow Jesus, God is always the one who saves them.
There’s another verse about that in John 4:37 ESV: “For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’” That’s another way to say that sometimes, you don’t get to see whether people accept Jesus after you tell them about Him. But maybe someone else will because of the work you did to tell them about Jesus.
No matter what, remember that we don’t save people; we’re pointing people to the Savior. And we can always pray that God would continue to work in people’s hearts long after we’ve told them about Jesus.
