Why Is My Faith Worth Sharing?

DAY 3 OF 5

You can share your faith without making it awkward or weird.

So, now we know why our faith is worth sharing—we need a Savior, the world needs a Savior, and Jesus is the only cure for our sin. But now … how do we actually share our faith without making it awkward or weird?

We get it. It can seem scary and overwhelming to share your faith with someone. You may wonder how to say it, how they’ll react, or how to respond to questions you might not know the answers to. But sharing your faith doesn’t have to be scary. It can be as normal as talking about your favorite food!

First, the best way you can share your faith is by living a life that reflects Jesus. You can’t just talk about Jesus. You’ve got to live like Him! When you do that, people will notice something different about you and want what you have. You’ll also start loving people, and they’ll be more open to listening to you because they know you care about them.

You don’t have to—and in fact, you shouldn’t—shout about your faith to anyone. You certainly don’t have to be mean or argue or tell someone they’re wrong for not believing in Jesus. Instead, share your story. One of our Bible verses today says: “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’” Matthew 10:7 NIV

Did you catch the first part? As you go. As you’re living your life, when the time is right, just have normal conversations about Jesus. It doesn’t have to be fancy or out of the ordinary. Just talk about Him like you would talk about anything else you’re passionate about, like your favorite show or favorite YouTuber.

Finally, talk about what Jesus has done for you, and don’t be discouraged or frustrated if someone doesn’t believe what you believe. Keep loving them, keep being a good friend, and keep praying that God would give you the right words to say at the right time.
