The Victories Of Christ For The Believer Sample
Victory Over Satan is Real
Can you imagine the power that raised Christ from the dead and took Him to be seated at God’s right hand? Can you imagine the type of power that is? Let me give you some good news, it is the same power that the children of God now possess. For this power that is available to overcome the devil. It’s the work of the power, not of our strengths, but of the power of God working in our lives. In Christ we have a power operating in us to overcome any type of attack of the enemy.
In Relation to Sin
This is why Paul says in Ephesians to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. It’s the same phrase that is used in the divine power we have in Christ. He encourages us to be strong in the power that we possess to overcome the enemy. Through Christ we possess the power of His victorious strength over the enemy. Yes, Satan won in the Garden of Eden all of humanity, but Christ overcame that on the cross.
In Genesis 3, God says: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers, he will crush your head and you will strike his heel.
Since the fall of man, Satan not only tempts us to sin, but accuses us of being hypocrites, using others to produce a spirit of inferiority in us. He’s the negative spirit that tells us not to preach the gospel, saying we’re not worthy of being a Christian or a leader at church, because we are sinners.
Nevertheless, it’s the blood of Jesus shed on the cross that cleanses all of our sins. Paul, in Colossians 2 explains, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness which stood against us and condemned us, has taken it away, nailing it on the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. This is the moment that Christ crushed the serpent’s head, Satan.
In Revelations 12, John says: Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
For every sin or accusation of the enemy, there is a drop of blood shed from the Lamb.
About this Plan
In this nine-day devotional, we will emphasize the Victories of Christ in three core pillars: 1) victory over eternal death, 2) victory over Satan, and 3) victory over the slavery of sin. Many times we find ourselves trying to fight a battle that Christ already won on the cross; thus, it’s necessary to know the victory that He has given us.
