The intangible part of man is complex. In the Bible, many parts are discussed; soul, spirit, heart, conscience, mind, and flesh (when discussing the sin nature, or selfishness, of man).
The soul is the individual, and it is the part of man that struggles to “die to self” by resisting temptation.
The spirit operates on what might be considered a higher level than the soul, communicating with the Holy Spirit.
The heart is where intellect, emotion, and motive come together to make
choices and live out the spiritual life of man.
Use one or more of the following methods to study today’s passages as appropriate and helpful: God Follower, Target, or CUT.
