God's Grace

DAY 2 OF 11

Everything we do has consequences.

For example, if you practice drawing or shooting baskets, what is the consequence? You get better!

There are also consequences for sin. The Bible tells us that when we sin, we are separated from God and deserve punishment. Our friendship with Him is broken.

God loves us so much He doesn’t want to be separated from us forever, so He had a wonderful plan from the very beginning! Instead of us taking the consequences for our sin and being punished, Jesus took the punishment for us, and we were forgiven. Jesus took our place. It was a gift from God. All we have to do is believe that it’s true! Believe God sent Jesus to take the punishment for your sin and that He forgives you. Believe Jesus made you right with God. When you do, you will no longer be separated from God. You will be friends again!

Talk It Over:

In the video, what consequences do you think the cook deserved?

Talk about a time when you had good consequences for your actions.

Talk about a time when you had bad consequences for your actions.

How would you feel if someone else took those bad consequences for you?

What do you think made Jesus want to take the punishment for your sin?
