SHE 31 - Woman Of ValourSample
There’s no denying that the Proverbs 31 woman is a good steward of what she’s been given. She is not wasteful, she is open-handed and makes wise decisions. Her life is not one of control but one of stewardship.
Consider: Are you a good steward?
The opposite of stewardship is control. We are the stewards of what we have, not the owners. All that we have belongs to God, but often we choose to control what we’ve got instead of stewarding it because we’re scared. And sometimes because we think that we know better (and that’s pride). When we fearfully control what we have, we’re standing in our own strength, but when we choose to be good stewards, we’re standing in God’s strength.
Context: Why bother?
One day we will all have to give an account to God of how we managed what we were given. It’s not about much we have, it’s about what we do with it. It’s not about how much we earn, it’s about how we use it.
Good stewardship brings greater opportunity to pursue vision. When we choose stewarding over control when it comes to what we have, God will lead us to things that we cannot even imagine.
Over to you: Ask yourself…..
- What is your current default? Do you steward or control what you’ve been given?
- Do you agree that God is the owner of all that we have and that we are merely called to steward it?
- Which areas of your life are currently more defined by control than stewardship?
- What can you practically do in order to ensure that you consistently live a life of stewardship?

About this Plan
Whilst the Proverbs 31 woman can so easily be seen as an intimidating list of characteristics we can’t measure up to, we believe that it an inspiration of all that God celebrates in His daughters. A woman not only to be revered but also celebrated and imitated. This plan is the overflow of Freedom Church's women's' ministry SHE.
