Preparing For The King - Disciple Makers Series #20Sample
"What do you want Me to do for you?"
Thoughts on the message
“What do you want Me to do for you?”
Have you ever had Jesus ask you that question? Take a moment and think what you would say to Jesus if He did ask you.
It might surprise you what you would say. It surprised me when I heard God ask me that question many years ago.
He asked me when I was 22 years old. I did not know God asked us these kinds of questions. I did not know that He was willing to do that. I knew Jesus asked those questions in the Bible – but I thought those days did not happen anymore. But they do. So I asked for something very simple – and it was for a friend and not for myself. I often wonder if I did what was right. I know God answered that prayer – I saw the answer in a beautiful baby girl that God gave them.
What would you ask for God to do? These men knew what they wanted – and were quick and clear with their request. I wonder what I would say today?
Prayer
Father, I did not ask for anything for myself that time. I wonder what You thought of that? I wonder if my request would be for me today – or if I would again ask for a blessing on another friend. Father, today I want to take time and look at my life and see what needs a special gift from You. Is it my life? Is it my family? Is it for a struggling friend? Is it for the spiritual life of someone who does not know You? What should I grasp onto and wait on You to ask the same question? Father give me wisdom, because I believe that the question will come again. In Jesus’ name Amen.
