A LONG JOURNEY
How many days until Christmas Day? Take a few minutes each day, between now and then, to discover what happened on the very first Christmas!
One day there was an important announcement in Nazareth. Read about it in Luke, chapter 2, verses 1 to 3. The Romans wanted to make a list of all the people to make them pay taxes. Everyone had to go back to the place they were born and register their names.
Luke chapter 2, verses 4 and 5 tell how Joseph and Mary had to go to Bethlehem to register their names. It was a long, long way and they had to walk. It would have taken more than a week. Mary’s baby was due to be born soon so the journey would be extra hard for her.
Pray. “Thank you, God, for keeping Mary and Joseph safe on their journey.”
