Dare To Ask

DAY 9 OF 10

Who’s on the throne?

Our hearts are like a throne room, designed for the King to live and rule from a place of authority where He has a complete reign.

But we aren’t very good at housekeeping, and we store all kinds of junk in our throne rooms. It becomes cluttered as we forgo the maintenance that is required of a throne room in order to keep it acceptable for a King. Through the course of daily life, it becomes dirty and grimy, and we use it like an attic. We don’t get rid of the old baggage, or the boxes with memories of old flames, traumas or bad experiences. We keep them there, often unaware what is stored.

When we allow our hearts to become cluttered, the process of emptying, ordering, stripping and restoring gets harder and harder, and more and more painful. But God will take us through that process if we let Him, because He is committed to having a pure and spotless Bride, whose King is on the throne.

The process of restoring the throne to the King, is a process of dying to ourselves. There will be things in our lives that are hard to root out, but the King will take the time to do so because he wants a clear throne room. He longs for us to have no distractions, so He can speak and we can hear clearly. He wants us to be able to run to Him and not trip. He demands that nothing or no one else takes His place as our first love.

Do you dare to ask Him to reveal what’s in your throne room? Are you willing to clear it when He does? You may find unexpected things sitting on your throne!

The King is ready to be given back His throne, He’s waiting for you to accept this challenge to gently re-order your throne room and let Him take up permanent residence.

About this Plan

Dare To Ask

This plan encourages readers to grapple with the dreams and gifts that God has intrinsically put within us, and to Dare to Ask for more of God, while remaining at a place of rest. It challenges our perceptions and leads us to trust God’s sovereignty.
