21 Days to Life-Changing ConfidenceExemplo
Jesus hasn’t called us to be lights that water grass, refrigerate food or that play music. He wouldn’t tell us to do that because we are not designed to do those things. He calls us to be lights that shine. Lights that do what we were purposed to do.
Now, not all lights shine the same. A problem occurs when we’re told we’re a light but don’t know which type of light we are. Lamps and firecrackers both shine light, but they shine very differently. If you’re a lamp surrounded by firecrackers, you might assume you’re less important. However, a lamp can do things inside the house that a firecracker can’t. Lamps set the mood and light up a dark room. They’re safe and non-explosive. Position is determined by purpose.
That’s why Jesus said people don’t put a lamp under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand, and it is then that the lamp shines for everyone in the house. Here, Jesus indicates the importance of being placed in the right position. Because if a light is shining under a bowl or in a closet, then it isn’t as effective as it would be on a lampstand.
Our lampstand is the place where our light is positioned most optimally for our purpose. Your lampstand may be with kids. Your lampstand is supposed to be in front of a camera. Your lampstand may be in a different country, classroom, or laboratory. Wherever your lampstand is supposed to be, it’s important to position yourself there to live God’s plan for your life.
"Let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father." MATTHEW 5:16
DECLARATION:
I am positioned by God. He designed me as a light; my sphere of influence is my lampstand. I am confident that wherever God positions me is a platform for His ultimate purpose.
