Portanto, se há algum encorajamento em Cristo, se há algum consolo de amor, se há alguma comunhão no Espírito, se há alguma afeição e compaixão, completem a minha alegria, tendo o mesmo modo de pensar, o mesmo amor, um só espírito e uma só mente. Nada façam por ambição egoísta ou por vaidade, mas humildemente considerem os outros superiores a vocês mesmos, cuidando, cada um, não somente dos próprios interesses, mas também dos interesses dos outros. Seja o modo de pensar de vocês o mesmo de Cristo Jesus, que, apesar de ser Deus, não considerou que a sua igualdade com Deus era algo que deveria ser usado como vantagem; antes, esvaziou a si mesmo, assumindo a forma de servo, tornando‑se semelhante aos homens.
