The Beatitudes in PaintExemplo
Those Who Hunger and Thirst
First of all, blessed are those who are fed up with their own lack of righteousness and their own wrongness. That's a start, in thought and deed, seeking to replace our wrongness with rightness.
And the more we hunger and thirst for it the better our chance for having it.
It's the law of nature: what we're hungry for we go after—either right things or wrong. If we go after the bad things, there's a reward, just not one that will satisfy. Go after the right things and find life overflowing.
Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all things you need will be added onto you." It's a mega promise: all things!
Mary saw it from the beginning, right after she gave birth to Jesus, "He fills the hungry with good things."
Seek righteousness. Go after it like you'll die without it. You will be well rewarded. You will be filled.

The Beatitudes is the title tradition has given to this most succinct series of blessings that came from the mouth of Jesus. They are the opening summary of "The Sermon on the Mount," found in Matthew 5 through 7, the most famous sermon of all time. Here are the Beatitudes illustrated in paint, with accompanying meditations.
