Expecting the One With Many NamesExemplo
WE CAN TAKE GREAT COUNSEL FROM THE WORD!
What a lovely name for Jesus; ‘Wonderful Counselor!’ People pay money, and insurance companies sometimes cover for people to get professional counseling. A counselor gives wise advice, comfort, and reassurance to their clients. In this prophetic description given by Isaiah, one of the names given to Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor. He doesn’t need an appointment, and we don’t have to pay to seek His wisdom, comfort, and assurance. He is available to all people 24/7, 365 days a week!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called ‘Wonderful Counselor,’ The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
The last name in this advent study for Jesus is, ‘The Word.’ We know that this name is also given to the Bible. And rightfully so, for it was God-breathed and inspired as a guideline or blueprint for living. Jesus always was, from the beginning, ‘The Word.’ Jesus changes not, and it is this Word we can trust.
“In the beginning was the ’Word,' and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
LET US PAUSE:
