7 Truths of Marriage: Bringing Sexy BackExemplo
Sexy Surrender
Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 1 Corinthians 7:3-4
God designed marriage to succeed 100% of the time. For the marriage to be successful, both spouses must be willing to share everything. Actually, it’s not as much about sharing as it is surrendering. The difference is that you portion out what the other gets in sharing. In marital acts of surrender, you possess nothing that your spouse doesn’t also own.
God wasn’t kidding when He declared that the two shall become one flesh in Genesis 2:24. The only way to become one is to put an end to the expectation of two. You and your spouse can no longer operate as individual persons with an expectation of enjoying one amazing marriage.
Making sacrifices and intentionally outgiving to one another is super sexy as it demonstrates an unselfish desire to please the other. Surrender all and experience what it is to gain everything. It’s sexy to surrender.
TRUE TALK:
Talk about areas where you may still be holding onto something that’s digging against complete openness and intimacy. It might be a personal habit, hobby, or hang-up. Be willing to surrender all to gain so much more.
