7 Truths of Marriage: Bringing Sexy BackExemplo
Sexy Requests
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:14-15
Why is it so easy to ramble on for hours about a movie or sports event, yet when it comes to a husband and wife talking about sex, they clam up like kids at the dentist? Well, because it's sex and thanks to the world's perversion of what was a gift God gave only for spouses, we've got some preconceived barriers to break through. It's okay to talk about you know what…sex.
Sex is God's covenant seal for marriage. Leah calls it the marital glue that holds it all together. I like her spunk, and the truth is, physical sex is for you and your spouse to enjoy. Also, we're not sure who started the rumor that the missionary position was the only action allowed in the Bible, but I'd like to find that lonely missionary and set them straight.
As long as the two of you agree to the sex, it is honoring to God and pleasing to each other, then you should feel free to make requests and ensure each other knows what is pleasurable. So go ahead and make a request with your spouse and bring the sexy back into the marriage bed.
TRUE TALK:
Create the time before you're both in the throes of passion for discussing what each other likes before, during, and after sex. It might seem mechanical to discuss, but expectations undiscussed often go unmet.
