Conclusion - Moses Foreshadows

There is so much more to Moses’ story and life than we have had time to go into and many more miracles were performed by him. He was also a shadow of Christ, the deliverer that would eventually come to deliver His people from the law — once and for all.  Some would say the delay in the wilderness altered God’s plan, but we know that God’s plan is perfect, and His timing is perfect.

If you study that portion of Scripture, you see that Moses meeting Zipporah was pivotal to him succeeding in delivering the Israelites because she knew that, among other things, blood was required for a covenant.

In Hebrews 11:26-29, we see the blood protecting the Israelites.

“By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them. By faith they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were swallowed up.”

Moses Foreshadows

Moses was anointed as a prince, as a priest, and as a deliverer – he pointed to a coming Christ. None of us now can be types and shadows of Christ because He has already come. But God did put us into this very time in history for a purpose.

Reflection

Christ has come and will be coming again. God placed us here at this time of history to do what is needed. Christ will come again, and He seeks to come to a spotless bride.

How do we fit into this scenario? How do we help God’s church become spotless? We each have a role. We have a part to play in this life and in this time in history. What is your role?

Moses, a Man of God's Power

Moses is credited with writing the first five books of the Bible, and manifesting some of the greatest miracles ever recorded during his lifetime. This devotional is the first in a series that explores the characteristics of powerful, biblical men that God used to not only write down His words but also to exhibit His very power on the earth. This plan was written by April Knoke.
