Quenching Thirst
In Cana we went to a great wedding feast.
They’d not planned the beverages well in the least.
The wine ran out quickly to hosts’ clear dismay
I seized the rare chance to reveal Him that day.
“Just do what He tells you,” I comfort the host.
Then water turned wine that the guests praised the most.
Yet this great occasion was only the first
When beverage He offered would quench a deep thirst.
From streams’ living water grows righteousness oaks
Of trees firmly planted, roots no famine chokes.
I pick up an acorn, quite small, smooth and round
This seed testifies where fulfillment is found.

In this devotional written from the perspective of Jesus' mother, Mary vulnerably and honestly details the intimate moments of her experience as a mom. In each compelling scene, Mary treasures a small token to remember it by. Little does she know the divine significance each item will play in the ultimate purpose of her son’s role on earth.
