More Than Many Sparrows

God’s children need never be afraid of others, Jesus told His disciples. He even knows when a sparrow dies. A sparrow is not worth much but He cares for them too. If God cares so much for these insignificant sparrows, how much more does He care for you?

God is fully in control of everything. He also knows what you need. God cares about you in so many ways that every hair on your head is counted. The Message translation of this verse says that we are important to God “from head to toe”.

God is aware of everything that happens to you and you will never find yourself in a situation from which He cannot save you. The fact that God protects His children does not, however, mean that you will never experience suffering or death. Nonetheless, God will be present in everything that happens to you. To God, His children are immensely more valuable than sparrows. Yet if He cares for them, He will most assuredly also care for us, His children.

God’s presence in your life does not exempt you from dark times, but His presence will help you get through them. There in the gloom, you will be able to feel His arms around you. You can depend on His promise that you are safe with Him, now and forever. He promises to guide you out of the darkness until, one day, you are safely received by Him in heaven.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, it is wonderful that You care so much about me that You know every small detail of my life. I am grateful that I need no longer fear anyone or anything, because You are in control of my life. Amen.
