Deception and what is Best.
When we choose to turn away from God's voice and God's orders, and choose to follow what we want or what others tell us to do, then that is the first step towards falling into sin. The only voice that we should follow is God's. If there were two instructions given, one by God and the other by our friends, no matter how odd God's request might be and how fun and cool our friends' request is, we should still follow God's way. Why is that? Well, the good news is that God is the only one who truly knows what is best for you. Your friends, your teachers, not even your parents truly know what is best for you. They mean well, but they don't really know what is best. Imagine if these people, the ones we know will always have our back, do not know what is best for us. Then, what about satan?
Many times we choose to believe our guts instead of surrendering to God and choose decisions that make us feel good. Guess what? This is satan's way of deceiving you. He wants you to fall into sin so bad that he would do anything to temp you into it. But the things is, he wouldn't tell you the whole truth. He would say it tastes good, but he wouldn't mention the consequences. Still considering to put others' opinion first before God? Think again. God has our best interests at heart, but are we willing to submit to His plans?
