In the Shadows

Dzień 2 z 28

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Lamentations 3:21–23 again.

  • Who was this passage originally written for?
  • What stands out to you?
  • What does it tell us about God's love?

A: Application

  • This passage was written in a time of deep despair for the Israelites. What promise did it hold for them? What does that mean for you today?
  • When have you experienced God's unfailing love in the past? How does recalling that experience encourage you to trust God now?
  • How can you look for God's faithfulness in the middle of difficulty?

P: Prayer

Spend time praying to God about the compassion and love poured into your life each day. Whether this is a time of hardship or life feels easy right now, ask for help trusting God every day. Then say thank you for the mercy, love, and faithfulness God gives no matter what season you find yourself in.

In the Shadows

As we grow and experience more life, we might find the shadows of doubt or questions creeping towards us. Rather than running from the shadows, we can look to God to cast some light on the situation. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll take a look at stories that draw us closer to God's light whenever we feel lost in the shadows.
