Tradition and Change

In today's verses, we will look at the relationship between tradition and change. One of the oldest traditions of humanity is the tradition of making sacrifices and offerings. The Bible tells us that Abel offered a sacrifice of his flock to God, and He accepted it. When God sent the tenth plague into Egypt He instituted the tradition of the Passover, where the sacrifice of a lamb was also made. But at times the people of Israel were faced with a new situation, for example, when Solomon's Temple, where sacrifices were made, was destroyed. For decades the temple was destroyed until it began to be rebuilt and the offerings resumed. But on the day of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, the Bible says that the veil of the Temple was torn in half from top to bottom. We do not know for sure the significance of this event, but we do know that a few years later, the second temple was also destroyed, and once again the people found themselves in a new situation, without a place to perform the sacrifices. We also have our traditions, and when we are faced with new situations, let us ask God for wisdom to choose between tradition or change.
