“We are, therefore, Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”- 2 Corinthians 5:20

What is an ambassador?

An ambassador represents an organization or country chosen to embody and represent all they stand for. All that the ambassador says or does reflects on that organization or country.

On this Better words and Better actions journey, we should realize that we are ambassadors and representatives of the Kingdom of God, and all that we say and do reflects on the one we represent. People around us will look at us to determine whether they want to live for the one we serve.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”- 2 Timothy 2:15

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “What You Do Speaks So Loudly I Cannot Hear What You Are Saying.” As believers, we should remember that what we say should always compliment what we do; as we endeavor to speak better words, we should have better actions. As we do this, people around us will be inspired to be ‘reconciled to God.’ 

Reflection Question: 

Looking back on your journey with God, have your ‘actions’ (lifestyle) always complimented your ‘words’ as a believer? 

Praise + Prayer:

I pray that you will empower me to be a great ambassador for your kingdom and that wherever I go, people will be drawn towards You by my words and actions. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Action Idea:

We are ambassadors of the Kingdom of God. We have the ministry of reconciliation, which is to share the gospel with unbelievers to be reconciled to God. In the weeks ahead, be intentional about building a relationship with at least one person to share the message of Jesus with them. As you journey with them, remember to show them through your actions what it looks like to be a follower of Jesus.
