True North: Redemption

DAY 5 OF 7

So often our brokenness, our sinful nature, or our unique personality originates from wounds that we have received throughout life. An alcoholic father, a controlling mother, a father who never said “I love you,” or a mother who was hyper-critical and demeaning. These types of wounds (spiritual wounds) could also come from an incident at school, a coach who ridiculed you in front of the entire team, or even a teacher.

A divorce, hurtful words from an ex-girlfriend, a failed business, or even a wayward child can also cause a spiritual wound later in life. Regardless of how the wound is received, Jesus and Jesus alone can heal it. We simply have to invite Him into the hurting places of our hearts.

Take some time today, turn off your phone, computer, TV, etc. and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any wounds you might have. There will likely be memories that you haven’t recalled for years that will start to surface. Invite Jesus into those memories and ask Him to heal those wounds and forgive those people who have hurt you.

For some of us, we have to go to Jesus multiple times and allow Him to show us our multiple wounds and let Him begin to heal them. The healing, the wholeness, and the freedom that comes from this is amazing! Let Jesus into the brokenness of your heart today.

About this Plan

True North: Redemption

Even with the amazing gift of redemption, all of us still sin even after accepting Jesus. God’s love, grace, and mercy for us don’t end at salvation. It’s just the beginning. No matter what you’ve done, no matter how far you’ve fallen, God is still waiting and wanting to redeem you back to Himself.
