You Are Gifted: Devotions From Time of GraceSample
You Are Gifted: Serving
Have you ever noticed how God’s kingdom runs on principles that are opposites of the principles of our sinful world? For instance, God says, “The last will be first” and “Whoever wishes to be great must make himself like a child.” TV shows lavish attention on the rich and powerful. God prizes humble service.
The Bible says, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If someone’s gift is . . . serving, let him serve” (Romans 12:6,7).
Do you know people like that? Just think about how our lives are enriched by people who prepare meals, clean up after others, plan events, and send greeting cards. Just think about the many people who get their first look at real Christianity by watching a Christian gladly carry out the spiritual gift of serving. So let’s serve!
