God is so merciful to us. In His mercy, He has allowed us to be born again through the resurrection of Christ. When Christ died and rose again, He defeated sin on our behalf. Apart from Him doing that work on our behalf, we are hopeless. There is no way we could ever pay the debt of our sin. God did it for us in Christ.

Now we have a great hope, a living hope of eternal life because of Christ. Heaven is our inheritance. Let’s be people who long for that inheritance. Spend time today thanking God for the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus and for all that His work accomplishes for us, namely the hope of eternal life with the Father.
