Spiritual Warfare in My Life
As we explore the concept of spiritual warfare, we must understand that our struggle isn’t against things of this world. We are going up against things of another realm—a realm that we can’t see, a realm that we don’t fully live in. Ephesians reminds us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Spiritual warfare is one of those topics that many Christians don’t want to approach. They don’t want to really think about it. It can be overwhelming to think about and hard to understand. At times, it can even be scary. Some prefer to ignore it, choosing the old saying that ignorance is bliss.
But spiritual warfare is just that—a battle. We are in the middle of a war with unseen forces, and we can't defend ourselves or fight for God's kingdom if we remain blind to the truth. Ignoring the battle around us doesn't make it less dangerous; it only makes us less prepared.
Over the next five days, we will look at some of the major ways the enemy attacks us and (spoiler alert) land on the idea that we are conquerors, even in the middle of these battles.
