Now Over Next
I can’t give you a list of steps to conquer FOMO. But I will tell you that God doesn’t call us to something He isn’t going to equip us to do.
The Bible tells us that Jesus’ Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). There is something sweet about a lamp. We turn to our lamps when we’re in a safe place—a place we trust.
When we do life with Jesus, we don’t have to know every single next step. We don’t have to be able to see far into the future. We just need His Word to guide us moment by moment.
We were made to see NOW.
We were made to be present NOW.
We were made to shine His light to the world NOW.
Paul says: “Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you’re on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute!” (Philippians 4:4-5)
The only way to step into the NOW without having an identity crisis is to put on the identity of Christ. The identity of Christ is light. All we have to do is wake up to where He has us and reflect His light.
I believe every single small step you take with Jesus is going to illuminate the plans, purpose, and freedom that you never knew existed. I believe you’re going to see your brokenness as something beautiful. I believe that God is going to redeem the missteps and mistakes you’ve made to break other people free from things they’re stuck in. I believe you’re going to conquer the fear of missing out once and for all.
Think about what your normal day-to-day looks like. Now, how can you shine your LIGHT and reflect Jesus in each of those spaces?

About this Plan
If you’re like many women, you struggle sometimes with FOMO: the fear of missing out. The problem is, we can become so busy trying to create a life worth living that we miss out on the moment God has placed right in front of us. It’s time for us to embrace where God has us today. It’s time to embrace NOW over NEXT.
