Hope in God

Today, I want to celebrate your courage! You decided to invite God into the darkest and most painful spaces of your heart. Can I let you in on a secret? It is in this place, the wilderness, where God will bring healing, restoration, and deliverance. This is why Satan fought you so hard; He doesn’t want you to encounter God’s power. Satan knows that one encounter with God will change your life forever.

As I write this plan today, I am grateful to share that God is faithful in answering our cries in the wilderness. He did not abandon me when I was seventeen years old, crying at the church altar. One day, when I least expected it, God spoke to me through a woman at my church. She told me, “God said it’s time for you to heal. It’s time.” Those words were the beginning of my journey to freedom. While the healing journey was anything but easy, God was faithful in performing His Word in my life. He didn’t leave me when times became hard, and depression threatened to overtake me.

God will never leave you or emotionally abandon you, either. This trial you are facing may just be the very answer to your prayers. I encourage you to continually seek God through His Word, journaling, and prayer. The Bible reminds us that He who began a good work in our lives is faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6).

What lessons are you learning in the wilderness? How have those lessons caused you to grow?

Prayer:

Dear God, I thank You for your presence in the wilderness. I thank You for supplying all my needs. I am so grateful for Your comfort and strength. When life becomes overwhelming and I feel afraid, remind me of Your unfailing love. I do not have to fear because You are with me. Thank You, God, for loving me well. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
