El-Roi the God Who Sees MeSample
The Lies of Satan
In the wilderness, Satan filled my heart and mind with tormenting thoughts. He would hurl his lies such as, “God does not love you. If God loved you, He would not have allowed this to happen to you.” Or “Where is your God now?” Do any of these lies resonate with you? I learned Satan likes to attack us when we are the most vulnerable, and often incapable of fighting back. The Bible describes him as a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.
It is Satan who makes us feel alone and abandoned in the wilderness season of our lives. Satan knows if he can steal our hope, he can keep us in cycles of brokenness. When I let my circumstances consume me, I withdrew from others, spiraling into negativity. It became difficult to sense God's presence. But everything began to change when I started focusing on Him through His Word and the support of godly friends.
God wants you to know today that He plans to rescue you from the dominion of darkness. He sent His Son Jesus to destroy the works of Satan. The Bible tells us, “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.” You may not see it now, but you will overcome the schemes of Satan. You will arise from the wilderness.
Journal Prompt:
What thoughts are you struggling with the most during this wilderness season? Consider how these thoughts are impacting your mindset, emotions, and actions.
Bonus- Find a Scripture that reminds you of God’s truth (For example, Google search “Bible verses on overcoming fear").
Prayer:
Dear Lord,
I speak peace over Your sons and daughters. I pray that the truth of Your Word will bring clarity to every place of darkness and confusion. I thank You for being a refuge in the wilderness. Thank You for protecting their hearts and minds. Lord, surround them with Your presence and comfort them as they navigate this wilderness season of their lives. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
