Week 4: Heaven

Eternity

As we close out our month on increasing focus and our year of living a life of increase, there is no better topic to discuss than Heaven. Heaven is our ultimate goal!

When we think of Heaven, the key to understanding its importance is to recognize that it is eternal. Our time on earth is a blink of an eye compared to how long eternity is. God says in 2 Peter 3:9 that He doesn’t want anyone to perish but wants everyone to have eternal life. He provided a way for us to access Him in an intimate and lasting way by sending Jesus Christ. Jesus is our ticket to get into the gates of Heaven for eternity! The alternative to Heaven for eternity is Hell. Therefore, the decision to believe in Jesus and have eternal life with Him is the most significant decision anyone will ever make.

As we end another year in life, let us search our hearts, minds, and actions (fruit). Do we love God first? Are we loving our neighbors as ourselves? Are we sharing the Gospel with anyone anytime? The answers to these three questions are the measuring stick that reflects what we will take into eternity with us. These are the things that we will answer for when we meet God face to face.

Action Step: Pray through and answer honestly the three questions from the last paragraph: Do I love God first? Do I love my neighbor as myself? Am I sharing the Gospel with others?
