Connecting With God | Dive DeeperSample
Week 3 | Evaluate Your Encounters
Day One
Spend some time in prayer before you begin. Honestly reflect on your encounters with Him over the past few weeks. Confess any times you’ve been distracted, had a negative response to His word, or haven’t fully surrendered your heart.
- Read 2 Corinthians 3 again but this time try reading it in a different version than you did before, look up the definitions of words you don’t know, summarize what the passage is saying in your own words.
- Do some research, who wrote the book of 2 Corinthians? When was it written? To whom was it written? What genre of writing is it (Historical narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, law, prophesy, parables, epistles)? Why is all of this important?
- Do you think this passage teaches us about God’s creation, man’s sin, God’s redemption of man, or God’s restoration of man to Himself? It can be more than one. Why is it important to think about this?
- How does knowing that God takes away the veil when we turn to Him change how you view Him? Why do you think He wants to transform us into His image?
- Do you experience the ever increasing glory of the Lord when you connect with Him?
- Spend some time in prayer as you close, thank God for taking away the veil so we could experience freedom. Ask God to help you authentically encounter Him. Ask Him to reveal to you what the Spirit has written on your heart.
