NOT BY SIGHT

Think about how painful it is to sit and ruminate over a heartbreaking situation. When we obsess over the scary circumstances we’re facing, it overwhelms us with a sense of dread. When someone we love deploys, we feel helpless. When our finances crater, we feel defenseless. When our health falters, we feel hopeless. And if we spend our time looking at these kinds of things, they will eventually take us out. Instead, God invites you to keep your eyes on Him and bring your anxious heart to Him in prayer when fear creeps in, rather than spiraling into depression. It means opening your Bible to find peace rather than trying to numb yourself with food or shopping. It means speaking out I trust You when the tornados of life start swirling around, and you can’t make sense of it all. It means you choose to believe that God is good, that He loves you, and that He will fulfill every promise He made. Faith is a choice—it’s always a choice. Choose wisely.

Prayer: Father, sometimes I choose to manage my life rather than trust You. Help me walk in the unwavering belief that I can be confident in Your love and goodness for all things. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
