I Am REDEEMED!

DAY 3 OF 5

I Am REDEEMED: Health

When we are sick, when our bodies are attacked by disease or neglect, that is an excellent time to let the Lord redeem our health.

When we face physical affliction, we often just accept that that's the way it goes. But God has given us promises regarding our health that we can trust.

God is the redeemer of all things, including our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. We don't have to believe the enemy's lie that we will always be sick and tired.

While we seek God's redemption for our health, it's crucial to remember that we also have a responsibility to care for our bodies. As 1 Corinthians 9:19 reminds us, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Seeking God's intervention doesn't mean we can neglect a healthy lifestyle. We still need to nourish our bodies with healthy foods, keep them active, and seek help when life becomes overwhelming.

You may not like where you are, what the doctor's report said, or how you feel. Even amid challenging health situations, we need to find things to be grateful for, for a joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22)

Getting (and staying) healthy is not always easy. Genetics may be at play; you may be facing the mountain of a diagnosis you weren't expecting, or you may have been struggling already, and then one more thing happened.

The Lord doesn't want to leave you where you are. He desires to lead you into a better place. As Exodus 23:25 assures us, if we worship the Lord our God, His blessings will be on our food and water, and he promises to remove sickness from among us. So, let's hold on to this promise and trust in His healing power.

It is never too late to partner with God to take back your health. He wants to redeem every part of your life!

Prayer for Health: Lord, I ask you to be the Lord of every area of my life, including my health. I want to do my part--show me what that is and give me the strength to walk it out. I am standing on your promises that you remove sickness from me and that Jesus' stripes heal me. I believe my body is your temple, and I want to do my best to make it a wonderful place for you to reside. In Jesus' name, amen.
